Certified Kentucky Mediator to Help with Dispute Resolution

The mediation process involves two or more parties agreeing to work with a neutral mediator to resolve a dispute. Both parties will have an opportunity to express their positions and identify their interests and goals. The neutral mediator will work with the parties to develop a fair, custom-tailored settlement agreement that addresses both parties' positions and interests.

Benefits of the Mediation Process

One of the primary benefits of mediation, versus litigation, is that there does not have to be a winner and a loser. In mediation, the goal is for both parties to leave satisfied that they have been heard and that their interests have been incorporated into the settlement. Mediation is a confidential way to save time and money and keep stress to a minimum: A trial can take years to schedule, cost thousands and thousands of dollars, and ruin business and personal relationships.

Experienced, Qualified, and Certified Mediator

When looking for a mediator - training and experience matter. Not all mediators in Kentucky have the specialized training or experience needed to effectively mediate legal disputes. Attorney Karen Walker of ADR Works is trained and certified by the Mediation Center of Kentucky. She is also an approved Contractors Registration Mediator. Having mediated disputes for 15 years, Ms. Walker has broad and diverse experience helping mediation clients in Lexington and throughout Kentucky.

Our alternative dispute resolution practice handles mediation involving a wide range of disputes, including but not limited to:

PERSONAL INJURY MEDIATION

ADR Works handles mediation to resolve all types of personal injury cases, including car accidents, slip and fall accidents, wrongful death claims, medical malpractice, and other accidents caused by negligence. Contact us to schedule an appointment.

MEDICAL MALPRACTICE MEDIATION

Mediation of medical malpractice claims can often resolve a medical negligence dispute faster and with less stress than litigation. Mediation can also promote the parties' interests in keeping the matter confidential. Kentucky mediator Karen Walker handles medical malpractice mediation to resolve claims of birth injury, prescription errors, failure to diagnose, and other nurse, physician, or surgeon errors.

EMPLOYMENT MEDIATION

Choosing mediation to resolve employment law disputes such as sexual harassment, racial discrimination, gender discrimination, age discrimination, and employment contract disputes can save employers and employees a lot of time and money and preserve confidentiality. Contact ADR Works for assistance in starting employment law mediation.

CONSTRUCTION MEDIATION

Disputes over construction contracts and agreements can be resolved through mediation and can preserve working relationships among contractors, subcontractors, and builders. Lexington-based lawyer Karen Walker is an approved Contractors Registration Mediator who can help contractors resolve construction disputes in Fayette County and throughout Kentucky.

PROPERTY MEDIATION

ADR Works assists individuals and businesses who are in property and real estate disputes, boundary line disputes, neighbor disputes, and disputes over alleged breaches of condominium rules or violation of homeowners' association requirements. The mediation process can help preserve a positive relationship with your neighbors that might otherwise be destroyed in litigation.

AUTO AND LEMON LAW MEDIATION

Lemon Law claims involve allegations that a recently purchased car or other vehicle is a "lemon" with major defects. ADR Works can help resolve auto disputes between vehicle owners and auto sellers, car dealerships and manufacturers. Mediation can help quickly resolve disputes over requests for repairs, refunds or other warranty or lemon law issues. Contact us anytime for more information.

PROBATE MEDIATION

Fighting with family members over a deceased loved one's estate can tear families apart. Probate mediation helps families work together to resolve will contests and disputes over trusts. It also helps preserve the largest part of the estate for the beneficiaries, not drain the assets through a long, expensive trial.

DIVORCE AND FAMILY LAW MEDIATION

Divorce mediation can be a less painful way to resolve divorce and family law issues such as child custody, visitation, child support, spousal maintenance, and property division. Marriage dissolution does not have to involve bitter litigation over child custody or asset division where relationships with children and ex-spouses are damaged. The mediation process provides an alternate method for resolution of domestic disputes. While divorce severs the legal ties between spouses, the parent-child relationship is forever. Using mediation to develop a shared parenting plan can help parents focus on the best interests of their children, while establishing or preserving a peaceful, civil relationship with the other parent.
